oh hell yeah man, ive got the road and track where they ran that side by side with fords one off Boss Mustang, awesome article. Ive also got the motor trend from the mid 90's where they had the first one, i think the test driver said something about doubble bagging himself with depends before he would drive the thing.

The guy that testdrove those cars for the tests died in an accident at the testing track in Fort Stockton...I'm almost 100% positive of that as my friend was a fellow testdriver there when he had the accident...

Bad ass car none the less.

Good observation. I didn't even notice that until you pinted it out. That's a kind of weird though. A 99 w/ an older interior. I wonder if it's an older camaro w/ the front end from a newer model? Or vice versa? Still a awesome car, none the less.

the reason for the older interior is that its actually an older camaro. It was made in its first form as that car, i think it was a 94 or 95 but im not sure, but the 572 had a custom EFI dual plenium intake manifold with twin throttle bodies. Come a few years later they had the showdown with the ford, so they freshined the car up a bit. Put the new front clip on it, and put a new intake with the central throttle body location.

This was NEVER a production car, ever. They did make the LS1 based ZL1 camaros with the 7.0L LS1 based engine. This is not that car. This has a traditional style big block chevy aluminum block punched out to 572cid.
