Re: sony xplod

The only xplode item I have used is there 6x9's. I thought they sounded pretty good. I know lots of car audio guys do not like Sony's products, to expensive and they don't sound good. Personally I would stay away from Sony (due to the bad things I have heard) and stick with a diffrent brand, MTX, Panisonic, JL Audio, Polk etc. You might also try posting this question in the car audio section and get some of there opions, some of the guys in there work at some type of car audio shop.

Re: sony xplod

And even MTX has just recently started coming up, their stuff used to suck too but some the their new subwoofers have actually come out pretty good.

Re: sony xplod

I've got an xplode 4 channel 600 watt amp on my 6 by 9s and 4 by 6s. It does a good job for what I'm using it for (high pass at about 90Hz).
In my opinion though, you may want to look at some other brands if you're going for bass.

I've used an Xplod deck before, but didn't really like it in the car it was in. I couldn't see the display on the face when the sun was shining down through th T-Tops, but the sound was pretty good. A friend of mine put 2 Xplod 6x9s in his Toyota pickup and they sounded good in there. For a system that only had those 2 speakers, covered the entire sound range pretty well.

I've had 2 sony explodes and hate them both. I have one right now. It skips on the slightest bump. The first one i had stopped reading discs after 1 year. I've never had any of their amps or subs. IMO, they need to stick to home audio.

Re: sony xplod

um, i have a sony xplod cd player (one of the new ones) it dosnt skip at all... i really like the tuning, cuz it changes really quick and u dont have to hold it down, so u just browse stations really fast
also the cd changes quick.... which i like
i also have sony xplods 6"x9"'s in the back and 4"x6" in the dash.
my subs r mtx audio's (the new ones)
and my amp.... i dont know what brand my amp is... its just silver kinda cool tho
as for the xplod subs and amp, i wouldnt buy them, they sell them at wal-mart... dont get me wrong, wal-mart sells OK stuff, but not when it comes to that kinda stuff... at least for me!
i'd get some JL audio's or MTX's.
i also heard that the xplod amp burns out quick, and the subs dont hit that hard.

Re: sony xplod

i have the explode m9900, the dvd player one thats a flat screen and its kick ass, i had the explode deck that came out before that one also and it was great also. i cant speak for their speakers but i did put some in my boys ss a month ago, he has a factory deck so they sounded normal, and i dont need aftermarket speakers because i have bose and they are nice as hell! the decks are nice i never had a problem at all.

Re: sony xplod

the 6x9's and 4x6's are just loud, and the mtx's make up for the bass, so it evens out and sounds really nice, i like my system
