WIP : Wolf WR7 Ford - Hunt 1979 (FDS 1/43)
Because I have to wait while the Porsche parts are drying sometimes, I took a 1/43 kit out of my stock pile and started building it simultaneously.
It's a very basic kit of the now long gone FDS-brand, but with some effort it's quite easy to make a nice model. As far as I know it's still very rare up to today... The real car looked like this back in 1979 : And this is how the model looks after 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of Tamiya TS-55 : It obviously needs a third coat, because there still are pale spots... So that is what I did here : since the last picture, I applied another coat of TS-55 and I also started working at the decals : ![]() Here I did some more decal-work (right side only, other side is still "blanc") : ![]() To be continued... |

It's looking very nice, Guy. Only the gold decals seem too "pale" ? Are you having any problems with silvering? I remember seeing a Wolf being built here and the gold decals were rubbish. By the look of things, I think that's not your case
![]() I hope you post more pictures soon. I am really into F1 and these oldies are the most beautifull ones! Best Regads, Pedro |

I have no problems with silvering anyway. But it's a hell of a job applying these 20 year old decals... |

Re: WIP : Wolf WR7 Ford - Hunt 1979 (FDS 1/43)
Hello.
Sorry to report the TS-55 is a complete mistake when doing the "Hunt" Wolf version. The TS-55 is correct for the "Scheckter" versions, but the team got Olympus as main sponsor in 1979 and therefore the car changed colour to BLACK. Which is also evident when watching the ref.pictures you have included. Best regards Allan Nielsen Quote:

I still think TS-55 is correct. That is what the instructions say too. And when I compare pictures of the Scheckter car with the Hunt car, I don't see any difference, plus I think my model looks pretty close to black as well because of the 3 layers and the small scale.
But it's to late to change it anyway, since half of the decals are already set. And doesn't the saying goes "if it looks right, it is right"? |
