would this piss you off?!!!

the other night a few of my friends wanted to see whose car was the fastest. one of them had just got a dohc ford tauras, the other has a honda. mind you both of these cars are stock and not fast at all. anyway we went out to the country, i was in the z28 with one of my other friends and my girlfriend. There is a nice two lane blacktop road that goes for like 2 miles or so where we do alot of our racing. wide open, hardely any traffic, a good clean streach of road, the only draw back is it can be seen from the four way stop on the edge of town. the two cars line up, i pull off on a side road and turn around so i could see the race and look for cars. The two cars line up and my friends just sit there and talk for like 5 min, just sitting there, un aware of the headlights approaching from the rear. as i sit there just watching the lights get closer and closer i realize that there is something weird about this car. it has three bright lights, one of which comming from what looks to be the drivers window. Oh S#*T!!. it's a COP! my friend screams. Just about that time my friends finaly take off. I rip a u-turn, {doing a nice smokey burnout, not on purpouse though} i head towards the headlights, and just as i suspected he flys right past me in the other lane. he had to have been doing like 95- 100mph as he flew by me. Immediately i call both of my friends and tell them that those headlights are a cop. They both split off and disapper into the country. about an hour later we all meet up at a friends party. We got 2 talking about the events from earlier that night when a guy named Sig overheard what we were talking about and chimed in " I wonderd who was racing" We were just like, what? So he told us that he was driving around and saw a few taillights lined up just outside of town and thought somebody was racing, so he decided to come flying out that way and see who it was. oh and the real kicker was that he had two really bright ass driving lights and his passenger side headlight was out. He thought that it was hysterical that we thought he was a cop. me and my friends were so pissed off we could have beaten the shit out of him right there, but we didn't. What were we supposed to think? a car with what looks like a spotlight and it was speeding right at us. And to make matters worse he proceeded to talk about how "BAD" his car is and wouldn't shut up all night. What would you do if this happened to you?

Better safe than sorry. How was he supposed to know that you thought he was a cop?

Re: would this piss you off?!!!

Yea mabey i shouldn't have been so hard on him, but he scared the living shit out of us. I just turned around and gunned it i didnt mean to do a burnout, plus it was dark and he prolly didnt see it anyway. I would say your right and be mad at my friend who said it was a cop, but it really did look like a cop. Oh well i guess nobody got busted thats the important thing.

not to mention most cops are smart enough to not turn on the spotlight until they get close to you....
*at least i know that anyway..

Nope, wouldn't piss me off.

Being scared outta an area on a suspicion is always welcomed than getting a ticket.

I say you give your buddy Kudos and a handshake for thinking quickly. No reason to get pissed at anybody.

Yea, like anyone here with more than 200whp is gonna be able to calmly turn around and take off at a controlled pace when they think a cop is ~200ft down the road. I know I wouldn't. I would be too freaked out trying to get as far away from them as quick as I could. Cops aren't stupid. They know what is going on. Two cars lined up where racing occurs often. Whats going on?

Well, doing a burnout is definitely a way to remain inconspicuous.

Like a ninja's smoke bomb!! Yeah I'm all with you, if some guy came up on me from far away, and gave me a scare I would whoop him. No one and I mean NO ONE gets between me, and my street racing. I only stop for cops so the fact that my kryptonite had stopped my racing (in a lonesome place at that) I would be seriously pissed
