exhaust size ???

Ok i am soon to be putting a turbo on my ls (bout a month and a half) and i was wondering if it would hurt nething to go ahead and make my exhaust 3in? i know i will lose power but what kind.......high, low, mid?? and how much of it will i lose???? thanks alot

Why are you set on the 3"? Are you getting it for free or something? I don't know too much about exhaust but I do know that 3" is a little bit too much for an Integra. But then again you said your gonna put a turbo on it. I would go along the lines of the turbo specs.

Re: exhaust size ???

3" exhaust is going to help spool your turbo quicker. You won't really loose any power. Only problem with going with a big exhaust and not running much boost is a chance of boost creep, but a good wastegate will solve that problem.

He's going with a 3" exhuast because he is boosting ht emotor. 2 1/4" is fine for N/A motors, but too small for a turbo'd motor. For a turbo he's better off with 2 3/4"- 3" exhaust..as GScivic7 eluded too...
