'70 Torino Cobra

Just got this model the other day, and I have started on it. The engine block is mounted upon the chasis and the exhaust and suspenions are added. Also the drive shaft and rear axle are on. It is the Revell model of the 1970 Ford Torino Cobra.

I'm trying to figure out a color for the body and interior. I was thinking a Fire Engine Red and a learther looking brown. I am open to suggestions before 3 pm tuesday central time.

The metal looking one is. It's the "Boltgun Metal" paint. The rest of them are just basic acrylics I took from my mom's painting supplies. I would like to get more warhammer paints because they seem to be a higher quality.

Yea, that's the problem with having a cheaper digital camera, I might be able to borrow the school's digital every so often to update. I am currently letting the spruce's dry after washing them off, so, I'll get some more work done tomorrow and hopefully pick up the body and interior paint tuesday.

Just a little update. The first coat of primer was finished being added one hour ago and will be dry tomorrow about 3:30. I have decided to go with a Royal/True Blue exterior to match the engine block, and a dark leather for the interior. The interior is mostly put together and is drying from the primer so the leather paint will adhear more easily. That is why I don't like enamel, but it does look better and self levels, unlike water based. So, hopefully, the interior will be done and I will be able to take some high quality pics of it wednesday night with my friends digital camera.

EDIT: I have started work on the interior and have painted most of it. I will add another coat of the paint tomorrow sometime.

I would also like some ideas on the stearing wheel center and the dashboard colors. I will probably paint the window cranks black.

Re: '70 Torino Cobra

Maybe its the photos but it looks like you have used a gloss in the interior.
The color is not my thing. IMO it would look beeter in a lighter tan and try adding some more color like black side panels etc to help break it up.

It is enamel paint and they didn't have a flat version of the leather color, but it makes it look like it was just cleaned. I've added some chrome to the window cranks and the streering wheel. If I can get my brush down there, I'll paint the foot petals black.

Here are some shots of the exterior mid way through the painting process. There is some orange peel and water spots from where I forgot to whip of the water after a quick wet sand I have another two coats to add, then I can make my way to the polishing phase.
