JB weld?
I have an small oil leak in my hard line that is the return line from my oil cooler...I guess the salt did it in, as it has been leaking for a few hundred miles. Well I ordered the part, but with my schedule and the shipping times, I'm not sure I will have time to do the repair before I need to drive approx. 180 miles.
So does anyone think JB Weld will stop the leak and hold for the trip...once I get back to Philly, I planned on doing alot of maintainence anyway, and will have the time for everything.

Re: JB weld?
I think you should cut a piece of 3/8" (or what ever size the line is) and slit it down the side. Put about three clamps on it, one right over the hole and one on each side. Even better is if you can get access to one end and slip the hose over it without having to slit it longways.
JB weld relies on spotlessly clean surfaces which you'll never get on that rusty, oily line. I think the point here is to slow the leak, and at least the hose fix should be predictable. The JB weld might fall off and you wouldn't know it until the oil light comes on.

Re: JB weld?
Thanks for the advice...I originally planned on cleaning the lines with brake cleaner and PB blaster, but if you think that method works better, than I'll go with that.
