Talking Yeah, yeah....Episode VI: The Rise and Fall

Well, seeing is that nobody could guess, and you were all whining about it, I decided to give the viewers what they wanted. I hope you all like it. It's hard to keep a secret on these forums geeesh....

So Civ took the time to admire Marsh's work on his "project". Well he really didn't work on it himself, but he put up the funds to do it all. If you knew what type of person Marsh was, you wouldn't think he was the type that would go about fixing up his "steeds". But our Hero was still in shock at the sight. Not as if it were something he hasn't seen, but the fact that Marsh, had done so was something that Civ couldn't quite get past.

Civ: "H22?"
Marsh: "Yep, the Accord was in need of a new heart transplant."
Civ: "Anything other than I/H/E? Internals, Nitrous, ECU?"
Marsh: "Nope, that's it..." with a devilish smirk upon his face.
Civ: "Hmmm, why not. My steed has been in need of a good challenge lately." (In the back of Civ's mind he knew he would be torn up, but Civ has never minded a loss to a noble friend). There was no more questioning, only the thought the laid inside Civ's head 'Why didn't he tell me?'. But it was all to humorous to Civ.

The two Heros left Marsh's home, and went to find a deserted road to take their soon awaited bout. The night was becoming late. The air was cooling. Once the path had been chosen, Civ could only wonder how his steed would fair against Marshs'. Civ stopped, and Marsh came upon his side. Marsh held his hand in the air. The sign of 3 would initiate the beginning of their battle.

One....Civ holds his steed to 4000 rpms....Two....Marsh then holds his steed to an unknown level compared to Civ.....THREE!!! The sounded of asphalt and rubber tore through the night. Civ took the upper hand, his steed grunting, and for that moment it looked as though Civ had the upper hand. *Shift* a slight grinding of this steed. Civ jumped, Marsh jumped ahead. At that moment Civ could see the ending right before his eyes. But our Hero pressed on, 60 mph, 3rd Shift, Marsh was pulling all too easily on our Hero. Civ could only hear Marsh's steed galloping faintly fade in seconds....dying down, becoming softer. And at the moment the spirit of our Hero had done so as well.

Civ let off of his steed slowly, and signalled that he couldn't contend with his Ally. Marsh took note of it, and slowed his pace. Civ slowed and pulled to the side of the road. Off in the distance he could see Marsh turning around. Civ waited on the side of the path. Marsh came to his side, and extended his appreciation for a noble fight. Civ raised his head, feeling as though there could have been nothing done to prevent his loss, but it was clearly obvious that Marsh's steed was more powerful than that of Civs. Thus, he showed his sign of a good sport and returned the gesture to Marsh.

Marsh: "Whatya think?"
Civ: "I'm impressed. I wasn't sure I would do that well." But Civ had know that he hadn't done that well, and it was nothing more than a walk in the park for Marsh.
Marsh: "Yeah, I thought I would have taken you right off the bat." That said, some bit of pride came back to Civ, knowing that at the beginning moment, he had done a good job.

The two Heros returned to Marsh's. Civ's only reply would be that this would not be the end of it, and soon enough, the tables would turn. Marsh and Civ spent the evening reminising about the past, and talked of the future. Marsh said he would be leaving back to AZ the following day, and he had hoped that Civ would bring a better fight along with him. It was definitely a good evening for Civ. But what he had instore for Marsh is an entirely different story. Their paths would cross again, soon enough in AZ when Civ visits Marsh for Spring Break.

Until then, Civ has much work to do. Enjoy! L8...

Yeah, but not the car. But that was my fault. Although, I didn't have to hint to you guys about anything and just left it at DOHC. L8...

If he was planning on putting the H22 in something, why didn't he put it in a Civic? It would have been a bit lighter than an accord.

What year accord was it? I know that if you put one of those H22's in the boxy late 80's early 90's-style accords, they can really move out on you.

Because swapping an h22 into an accord doesn't require aftermarket mounts, axles, and the like. Its nearly a direct bolt on compared to swapping one into a civic.

Exactly, and Marsh had already owned the Accord. His father gave him the car, so all Marsh had to do was save up his money, and dump it in. BTW it was a 95 LX. I first thought it was an EX, but it's a 4dr LX. And Marsh isn't exactly the type of person that would get the idea to do a swap. Someone must have gave him the idea. He never told me why he did it, or when. So that's what bothered me, and he still hasn't told me either. But there will be another race when I go down to AZ.

As for now, I put the Civ in the shop this morning. I will have it back by late Tueday, or early Wednesday. Everything is being installed. So expect another race in a few weeks. I'll try to get a vid of it. Depending on whether or not I can get a camera is something I'm unsure of. We'll see. L8...
