tach lead wire voltage
yep, another question from me regarding this tach, i still cannot get this tach to work, what i did now is borrowed a voltmeter and tested the volts coming out of the green wire on my tach adaptor, the wire im supposed to hook the tach up to for the signal, while idleing it read .54 volts, i accelerated a little bit and it went up to 1 volt, so im basically asking if this is right? im trying to determine weather the tach, or the adaptor is bad, if the volts i have listed sound right, that will tell me the tach is bad, any ideas will be greatly appreciated, if you need any more info from me please let me know, thanks guys

cool, that doesnt help with my question about the volts though, basically i guess what i need is someone to take a voltmeter to their tach lead from the engine wihle the engines idleing and tell me if its in the vicinity of .54 volts, like mine was when i was idleing, if this happens i will KNOW that my tach adaptor is not the problem

check the tach and see if there is a switch for 4, 6, or 8
if so make sure that switch is on the number for the engine 4 = 4cyl 6 = 6cyl 8 = 8cyl the voltage will change because of power demand on the motor i.e rpm's revolution per minute |

im using a sunpro tach adaptor, a timex tach (not the most expensive thing in the world), and yes, it is set on 4 cylinders, i have checked EVERYTHING at least twice, everything is the way its supposed to be

Re: tach lead wire voltage
Probably the tach. If your getting a signal from the adaptor and the tach isn't reading it, then obviously its the tach.
