Re: whildriving slipped into neutral and back into drive and the car jerked? is it ok?
Should be fine, gearboxes are generally pretty resilient, if it starts to do anything strange though take it back to the dealer, just don't tell them what you did
![]() Make it sound like a factory issue and it'll be all good.

Re: whildriving slipped into neutral and back into drive and the car jerked? is it ok?
I did worse and my car has been fine: There is a downhill stoplight on the way home from my last job, and the guy ahead of me stopped short because he missed the little access road to turn left, and I had to slam on the brakes. I usually rest my hand on the automatic floor shifter, which was forced forward when I had to slam on the brakes, and it popped into reverse.......
The car stalled and I was like "Oh s***" and figured my car was fooked, not being worth the likely repair bill and all. But I put the car into park, started it up, and drove off gingerly, but there were no apparent ill effects. The car then did 600 miles a week for the next 18 weeks, and still runs fine (And got nearly 35mpg, not bad for an '88). |
