Everyone Post Your Opinion Please

This is actually a 2 part question. The first question is this. I'm back home and I brought my car by the local motorsports/car stereo shop. They said they'd hook me up with a system (I guess as elaborate as I want) for a fraction of the cost. What they want from me is to leave my car in their shop as a display until I come back. I'm gonna talk with the guy next week about the insurance and everything. They said the car will be roped off so no one can get inside, but you never know happens when I'm not there. My mom would probably check on it once a week for me just to make sure it's alright. So my question is, what would you guys do? I'm not sure how good they are. I would prefer a shop that has done a lot of big projects or have had their work in magazines. That's one of my concerns. Of course the insurance issue is a huge concern. The cool things though would be getting hooked up, and they are a motosports shop, so I could probably get hooked up with other stuff too. What would you guys do?

My second question is, has anyone heard of Arc Audio? I'm sure they'll use whatever I want for equipment, but I think they would use Arc Audio if it were up to them. Has anyone heard anything about them or used any of their equipment? Any opinions and 411 you guys have, would be appreciated.

Sorry it's such a long post

Go with ARC!!!!!! They are one of the best brands out!! Nick will back me up on this!! There is nothing bad about them at all....well maybe there nice price tag But if your getting them for a low price... go for them...

And for the car, make sure that they will take FULL responsibility if ANYTHING happens to your car...thats the only way I would do it... let us know how it turns out

If it's a really good discount, and you get to decide what stuff you want I think you should go for it. I wouldn't worry about the shop never having been in a magazine. I'm pretty sure there are many shops that do awsome work that have never been in magazines. As for your second question, I'm pretty sure Arc is a good brand, I seem to remember Sparq saying many good things about Arc.

Thanks guys. I really feel good hearing that about Arc Audio. As far as the car goes, I'm just afraid someone might key it...you never know?? They'll let people crawl around in it. They say it will be roped off, but you never know since I won't be there. Maybe they'll drive it. What if they go out of business or they move? Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but that's taking a big risk. It's not like I've known these guys a long time either. I've met a couple of them last time I was home in October, but I'm just kind hesitant to go with it. I sure wouldn't mind a hookup though
Thanks again for the replies guys

make a contract with them about the safety of your car

That would be the only way I would let a shop have my car for any amount of time for display..... so if anything does get messed up, you still get everything fixed...

personally...if i had a car, i wouldn't let anyone touch it (unless they are reputable). it's bad enough that you are leaving your car with someone else, and yet, you have such a nice interior that who knows what will happen. i can't really explain it.

since its gona be on display u know yuor car will be touched by lots of hands, i dont think u should display it, for safety reasons alone. u could be driving one day and some guy who recognises your car from the shop will know what u have in it and try to do over your car (maybe with u in it!)

ARC audio? never heard of it

Mike, go to a reputable shop and offer them your car for a display and shit if they'll hook you up. Don't do it with a little shop that you don't know much about. I wouldn't let a bunch of people crawl around in my car and shit like that if I was you. Go to a nice shop and say you want 2 or 3 people doing the work and not to let anyone else touch it. And do the whole safety thing with them, they mess anything up, they pay for it. Arc audio is nice, but it's not that well known yet. Kicker would be a good brand to go with that would get a lot of attention and is better than Arc audio in my opinion. That's just my 2 cents though.

But wouldn't it be nice to have high quality sound system to SHOW off? I do see where you are coming from though, but I rather have the Rainbow's that will explain themselves once heard... hehe

You know how I feel about Arc Audio so...

Just make sure that the shop will be held responsible/accountable for your car as long as they have it in their showroom floor. Like my man clates... Ask if the shop manager/owner will entertain the thought of a contract?

i would do it, if the shop owner assured full responsibility for any damages incured while the car is in their possession, take before and after photos so there wont be any discrepencies.
