Hi everybody, I'm just lost here to choose between all those different model of intake manifold to be put on my 91 Mustang LX 5.0L. First I would like to tell you that I'll only used it as a streetable car (no track or drag racing). Already have a 80mm mass air and throttle body, Fireball LX1 coil, Headers and 3.55 gear ratio. I've heard that the best intake to put on would be the Eldelbrock Performer II but I've just seen the new BBK SSI-Series perfomance intake that they claim to delivers over 30HP. They're also saying that is having a unique torque educing twin pelnums and equal-flow individual runner???????. Look's great anyway. May I have some feedback please? Thank's for your support.

Re: BBK intake manifold
It looks great on paper, but I don't think we can really give you any useful feedback untill on of us gets that intake. I will say what they claim does make sense.

5.0 magazine did a test and Trick Flow had the most horsepower gain from their intake manifold than any other. Edelbrock's will work well but you have to get Edelbrock heads and stuff to get the most gain.

of what little i know about fluid dynamics, the tall square plenum runners indicate fast, directed airflow, so i assume it would make most of its power gains up top...but i have no idea what the truth behind that is

Re: BBK intake manifold

The BBK has it's unusual cross design to accomplish a few things.: #1 Help stop the common air starvation on the furthest front and back cylinder on the manifold. #2 Help to create a more straight shot into the lower manifold for increased air velocity. #3 Maintain a long runner length to promote the 302EFI always good street machine torque. Go back and look at the old carb style dual plane vs tunnel ram intake. Knowing that the dual plane is much better at producing low-end torque relate that to each runner lengths. I think #3 is the one your a lil confused on. Look at the old carbed dual plane vs tunnel ram intakes. One produces lowere end torq
