This moulding (Esci) is fairly hard to find and they tend to go for silly money on the auction sites. If collecting kits is your thing you may be interested.

If however you are interested in modelling one of the greatest rally cars ever built then hold on a week or two because I believe Revell (Germany) are re releasing this kit (probably without the clear body)during the first quarter of this year.

I've wanted an Esci Ford Escort MKII as long as I've been modelling.

Lets hope it happens, I'll buy as many as I can get if they're normally priced not $xxeleventybillionthousandmillion like they go for at auction.

I hope they do the group 2 circuit racing car too, its a very attractive model.

Yep, definitely being re-released. Price should be the same price as for other Revell Germany 1/24 scale cars.

Now somebody needs to reproduce aftermarket decal sets for them! There will definitely be a market. Cossack anybody?

Do a forum search, there's been several threads about the re-release of the Escort kit.

Sorry for delay in coming back, but yes it is true A Ford Escort RS1800 appears in the Revell (Germany) catalogue and is scheduled for release in the first quarter of this year (and not before time) another classic Esci kit to hit the shelves is the Fiat 131 Mirafiori (the Italian Ford Escort RS1800?) released by Italieri. Cost wise the Revell rally cars retail for about £16.99 here in Northern Ireland with the Italieri ones being slightly cheaper at £13.99

About 4 years ago my local store was selling thies kits for 3.99 (gbp) as clearance items. I only bought 1 (d'oh). still have the decals though
