Modelmania 2005 & Space City Nationals
Some upcoming contest information for the SE Texas folks and surrounding areas. It's been awhile Houston's had a model contest/show, so this is one I'm looking forward to. Details below. You can pick up a flyer from Hobby Island. I'll be there with a few of my models. I'm thinking my 1/43 PM Pagani Zonda, Revell Civic Hatch, and some exotic. It'll be a good place for Houston-area AF members to meet up, or anyone else willing to make the drive.
April 2, 2005 9am - 5pm Stafford Center, 10505 Cash Rd., Stafford, TX 77477 Division 100 - Automotive Auto Contest theme - Rice Rockets 101 - Box stock - Street 102 - Box stock - Race cars 103 - Curbside 104 - Comp Open wheel 105 - Comp Closed wheel 106 - Comp Straight line 107 - Customs 108 - Street stock 109 - Hot Rods 110 - Foreign and Exotic 111 - Tuners and Lowriders 112 - Motorcycles 113 - Work vehicles 114 - 1/32 and smaller There are other divisions, too; I've just listed the car stuff.

Just a friendly reminder to those in Houston, TX and the surrounding area about this weekend's show. I'm pumped about going and entering.
If you're planning on attending, let me know. I'd like to meet other AF'ers. In addition to myself, I know hirofkd will also be there. Of course, I'll take lots of pics to share with the rest of you guys.

Contest came and went. It was a pretty good turnout, though there were a lot more of everything else than cars. Sadly, being the moron I am, I forgot my camera, so I leave it up to hirofkd to post pics.
Congrats to Hiro (hirofkd) for his 3rd place Ferrari Enzo and Alex (360spider) for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place wins in various categories with his Ferraris. His 250 Lusso is even more stunning in person. There is a car-only contest on April 23rd in Manvel, TX (just south of Houston), and there is an overall contest (all types) in Austin, TX on April 30th. I'll be at the one in Austin (won't forget camera this time). I'd like to go to the Manvel contest, but I'll be out of town. And for the Houston modelers, there is now a HobbyTown USA (finally). It is located at Hwy 6 South and W. Airport, just north of the Sugarland Airfield. I'm going to check it out today.
