Very Dissappointed

Ok, so you have your usual prestigious boarding school, where the standards are high, the best is expected of you, rules are everything, great and many oppurtunities are available, the whole community is like a family, tuition is as high as a good college if not higher, the food is free, you have your dormitories, separate buildings for certain departments, 430 student enrollment TOTAL for grades 9-12, and its one of the best chances to get into some of the greatest colleges. It's the type where you'd think nothing can go wrong, and everyone is smart, well disciplined, and it's the best of the best. Ladies and gents, welcome to Blair Academy. Of course you think the community is flawless because of Blair's prestigious reputation. So when you find that 5% of the population is caught smoking marijuana alll in one day, what do you make of it now?

Ladies and Gents, a very disappointing event has just occured as of today at my school. Approxmimately 17-20 sophomores and freshman combined were caught either smoking, or concealing the green 7 leaf weed. Yes, that's about 5% of the whole student body including day students; about 10 dorms (i guessed), and about 20 pepople per floor, about 4 floors in each dorm. One of the dorm is just called the Flight Deck(reason for name has a long story), and it is composed of only one floor, and 20 people. Basically, to the comparison to the amount of people caught to my floor, including Prefects but not RA's, my whole floor would be gone. That 5% of the studet body again people. Call it stupid, call it dumb, call it whatever. Most of these people are subject to expulsion, if not a long-ass suspension. And Im talking people who dot have such a good reputation here, and those who you would least expect to do such a thing, and oh yea, THEY'RE ALL MY FRIENDS. Now, seeing them and hearing about them doing such a stupid act, ESPECIALLY HERE justs makes me very VERY upset, especially those who you least expect to do it. And to the community, these are very cool people who has literally everybody as their friend, and where they're looked up to and are some of the coolest people. SO yea, very dissappointing, and if theyre all expelled, many here would be very upset. But also I have second thoughts about these guys, my friends. Not to be on the Discipline Committee(the groupe to hadle with such student affairs) side, but In some ways I don't feel sorry for these people. It was their choice in their conscience to do such a horrible act, especially in a school where the standards are high, rules are everything, and everything best is expected of you. Whether it was to blend in to be cool, try it for personal benefits, or to just so they can say they did it, there's no right reason, and if one was to be depicted, the reason I sure would come up with, is straight stupidity. Don't get me wrong here. They shouldnt have even done weed in the first place. It's against the law.

Now, I am still with my friends, and only talking about it in a good way will help. Very upsetting day for Blair acadamy (www.blair.edu), and myself.

So some short sighted, narrow minded hypocrite's can't see past the ends of their noses again. No big deal, I hope all those expelled go and become hugely successful despite this set back to prove it can be done.

I had friends make similar mistakes at an equally prestigous school, even though I wasn't at the school, there were suspensions and all sorts of lost priveleges, but fortunately most of the other students saw the consequences and learnt from it.

Its to bad they made such a stupid error in judgement. If they want to waste their money on that shit, then they should have been smart enough to do it off campus. Sounds to me that they aren't all that bright to begin with and made it in on mommy's money.

It's their business to smoke it, if it doesn't affect you, why worry about it? A lot of my good friends smoke, and I don't, but I don't care.

Granted, it is fucking stupid to be doing it at school though.

I see dope deals in front of me everyday, i'm a freashmen. I go to a PUBLIC school where we MIX races, Round, I know its hard to understand but I have DIFFERENT kinds of people at my school, Including POOR people.

Poor is when you don't have alot of money & what you do have u use it to survive.

Is this really such a big deal? I went to 3 different high schools, and every one of them I would see or talk to 30+ people that were smoking weed every single day (but i bet atleast 10% of the school was blazin at lunch, i would just see 30+). Its a normal thing. I used to smoke weed all the time at lunch. When i was in gr 11, we werent allowed to go to the bathrooms during class for a semester because some gr 9s were caught dealing coke in the bathrooms and whoever wanted it would go at a certain time. We would have these things called surprise "lock downs" once a month, where everyone has to stay in class while cops go threw the halls with dogs sniffing lockers. Everytime atleast 30 students would get busted with either weed, coke, E or steroids.

It seems like rich people dont know whats going on in the world... wow 15-20 people were smoking marijuana. Double or triple that and multiply it by everyday and you have an average public city high school.

I live in one of the richest cities/towns in North America, called Oakville (although my families not rich, lol.) Anyways we have more then half the school smoking weed, its insane.

I used to do it last year, every day in the summer was just bunning, but then i shit my pants when the cop found me with a half ounce. So i stopped.

Exactly, even in rich city public schools its no big deal. I bet over 80% of the people that went to the high schools i went to smoked weed.... and 10% just at lunch, during school every day
