skyline gets axed!!!!1
While leisurely surfing the Nissan of Japan website, I stumbled upon a beautiful looking GT-R. It was called the Skyline GT-R M-Spec NUR, and there was also a Skyline GT-R V-Spec II NUR. As it turns out, these were farewell editions to the R34 GT-R model! Apparently the R34s dont live up to Japan emissions standards anymore, and are going to be axed in August! Not only that, but the press release from Nissan said that the GT-R concept being showed might very well stay a concept. Leaving only a 350Z sports car, because they are also chopping the Silvia as well.

It's true, the death of a giant is upon us. We all know the reason... The question is... How long until the giant is brought back from the dead? To what end and at what cost? For those wondering what the NUR stands for, its short for Nurbugering. It a well known track in Germany I believe. Thats were the GTR was unconkable. I don't think it ever lost a race there.

gtrboi I dont think it is due to emmissions, more like slumping sales due to the high price and a flooded market with GTR's over there. These things have a habbit of lasting quite a long time and even when they are thrashed beyond normal driving the Japs repair them and keep them going. According to press releases within Nissan they are going to be brining out a 2004 model GTR. Lets hope it is not that stupid ugly looking concept car they show cased earlier this year.
