Question Pickup bed trailer Q's

I'm making a trailer out of a spare pickup bed.
Sounds simple enough right, but like most projects the devil is in the details.
I know that the rearend is replaced, in most cases, with a straight axle of some sort but are the shocks retained?
Any ideas what to make the hitch end out of?
(I know, take a piece of scrap plastic and cut everything off that doesn't look like a hitch end...lol)
I'm still stuck with deciding on the color, the wheels, to make it stake side or not...
Pretty complicated for something thats only got about a dozen parts...

Yes, it should have shocks, but I've seen real ones without them too. Just find some pictures of a trailer tongue and copy them. Your hobbyshop should have plastic in the shape of I beams and C channels, that would be a good place to start. The Hemi Hydro I just did, (Posted in Finished, Street & Custom section), comes with a trailer and the front part of it is about the same as what you need to make... - Mark

Hey Bill.
We had one when I was a kid with a leafspring and shocks, I think my Dad might still have it actually

Re: Pickup bed trailer Q's

Most of time the axle remains with just the drive shaft removed. An a-frame is usually welded onto the front end of the frame. They are pretty staright forward.
