lightning doesnt always cause damage.


here is an interesting fact - lighting shoots from the ground up, not from the clouds down.

it was the most incredible lightning storm I have ever seen.
Flashes every 5-10 sec.

All I did was leave the shutter open for 10 sec, the storm took care of the rest.

Photos 1, 2, 3 on
THIS page were taken during the same storm

lightning does not shoot up...
it comes down, looking for the highest point giving off the most electrical charge...

ground objects send off "runners" that act as magnets to the lightning bolt coming down, which ultimately directs where it strikes.

therefore, lightning is comparable to an extension cord looking for the nearest socket...

it would technically go "both ways" from the cloud and the object on the ground...

yall are both right... lighting creates a circut... like all electricity.. it comes down then goes back up... the part WE see is the going up... because the electricity moves sooo fast... anyway have fun with that
