It really all depends on what you have done to the car and what you plan to do in the future. The Trick Flow street heat is a decent intake, making it's power from idle to 5500 rpms. The Edelbroke Performer is right on that same level as well.

If you plan on adding more mods in the future I might consider a different intake route though, but all depending on what your planning to achieve.

Now if this is your first mod, I would wait and plan on something else first. Gears, exhaust, pulleys, shifter etc.

I am 17 and this is my first car and I was told this was the quickest way to increase preformance and hp. If anyone can set me strait here I would really appriciate it casue I don't like being left in the dark. I do plan to slowly upgrade but I don't know what needs to be done to create a decent car with around 400hp. please help me out here...

Your gonna spend between $400-$500 on an intake manifold.

Take that money and buy a set of rear gears and pay for a professional install. 3.73's would be my sugeestion but many are gonna say 4.10's. While these do not increase HP, these will give you the most ET drop per dollar.
