RPM Activator Question

Ok....i got the RPM activator switch(VTEC Controller) from summit racing. Does anyone know how to hook the wiring up? There is a white, black, red, yellow, and grey. I know the red is for power and the black is for ground but which one runs to the distributor and the VTEC solenoid and what is the other for??? Im confused. please help. Thanks.

Well since it won't to anything you can just use the wires to hold it up under the dash.

hahahahahaha

Actually, not funny - I've been known to use the wires to hold a stereo in place in one of my cars

ok, thanks. The only problem i dont get is the 30 AMP relay. Like i said i bought the Activator switch from summit. it is just a black box with 5 wires coming out of it(white, red, grey, yellow, and black). is there anyway i can just hook these wires directly upto stuff or do i have to get that "30 amp relay" thing. Thanks.

Ok....i was thinking that the red is for 12V power source, black is for ground, the yellow connects to the black for a ground because summit says that if you want a switch to turn on then to connect the yellow wire to the ground wire. White goes to the ignition and there is still a grey wire left....does this go to the VTEC solenoid itself? Im just trying to figure this out so i can get VTEC working. Thanks for all replies.

I forget the exact purpose of the relay....but I think the vtec solenoid requires a (-) input to activate it and the RPM switch puts out a (+)...so the relay switches it to negative. its definitely needed, you can get em at any auto parts store..

Actually, the relay is used to turn on a high demand circuit,if you plug it direct(without any relay) it will burn the wires or the rpm activation box.You need the relay for this to work.
