I totally agree......

Man I thought I was the only one who thought that shit was to low. Who did you hear this from? I'm sorry but the Torque is to much for just 6000-6200 rpms. That was one of the reasons I would lose my races was because I had to shift to soon. You let me know who we have to make this comment to and you have my vote. I personally think that the rev limit should be at least 7200rpms. But on the other hand, people have told me that cars with alot of torque whether they are Imports or Domestics have a low rev limiter such as like 5600-6200rpms. Anyways talk to you guys later.:alien:

Where you from.....

Shit, the last time I heard of snow was when I was living in Jersey. Now I'm stationed here Lousiana. Today it's like 70 something degrees. Did you race a eagle talon TSI, and GST eclipse? Don't worry, you'll be racing before you know it.:alien:

If you raise the rev limit, aren't you going to damage the engine?! The Nissan engineers put the rev limit low for a reason.

this is true....It's so you don't constantly redline and blow your engine...

I don't think whining at Nissan is going to convince them to spend extra cash making your cars less reliable. Put in stiffer valve springs and get a new ECU. You can do away with the rev limiter all together. In defense of experimentation, my old E16 used to run over 7000, even though redline was 6600. I once had a nightmare where a guy was driving my car really hard and ran the engine so high the needle on the tac was coming back around to 0. Maybe I'll get the old motor running and try that. :smoker2: But seriously, over-revving is rarely the cause of death with hearty Nissans. It will wear down your top-end a bit faster (much faster if you pull crazy stunts like rev to 8k. I've seen it done). But the QR has a long stroke, and it was not designed for top-end power (or if it was, the engineers failed miserably). Of course, if you'll remember the infamous KA24 truck motor could turn out 400+ horsepower with a good-sized turbo. Maybe you should look to some real mods, rather than trying to kill the engine. After all, it doesn't matter how high you rev after you hit peak horsepower. The stock powerband is between 4k and 6k. You need to widen it. A less panzy 6th gear would be nice too. I've been skeptical about the QR25DE since I gazed at its tentative specs a year ago. I still think you'd be better off selling the motor and getting an SR20DET. But that's me, and that's why I'm not buying an SE-R until I see someone tune one properly.
