inexpensive exhaust?
hi there.
got an exhaust leak and midas said I need everything behind the catalytic converter, and wanted to charge me $650 just for parts. At least the stock stuff lasted 10 years! So, I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for manufacturers, websites, mail-order, or east bay (in the bay area in CA) shops that could save me some money. Performance is not my priority. Quiet would be nice. Saving money is paramount! shoot me an email if you can be of help. thanks, A

Try getting a second opinion first, sometimes they try to get ur loot, It almost happend to me, by them.

yeah. that seems a little steep. you can probably get a custom exhaust for cheaper. =) i live in SF, i'd go check out a place called mach 3 on ocean ave. i could check for you to see what they got in stock, i do a lot of stuff with them and bay car stereo, so i can definitely get you a good price. if you're interesting. i can get the evo exhaust from greddy for 500. dunno if that's best out there as price, but i know it's cheaper than the website. =)

Hehehehe! $650 Hehehehe! WTF!
Anyhow, you could have a decent crushbent exhaust done for less then $300 (see my sig and go to my website for more info on that) or a nice mandrel bent for less then $650. Hell, you could by a Greddy cat-back for less than that shipped to your door. Just make sure that if you go with a custom crush bent they know what they are doing and the crush bends are smooth bends and not actually "crushed". Not as good as mandrel but a great alternative for the price.

OMG...$650 for everything behind the CAT...WTF...I got a $700 quote for a 5zigen Fireball cat-back for my P10. Much rather have the fireball, then the midas crap...

WTF!?!? 650?? Tell midas that they have minus a customer! they're tryin' to strait rip you off bro, tell them to shove thier 650 up they're you know what!... Like some people said already, Greddy Evo system doesn't even cost that freggin much! Crushed piping alone should just cost around 100 bucks w/ a high flow cat maybe 150-200, and an exhaust around 150-250, no let's just say you add that all up along w/ labor, your probably looking at 500 only, i'd say dont even waste your time w/ midas and get the Greddy evo that comes w/ the whole set up!!!

Yes $650 is a rip...you can get a custom exhaust done with mandrel bend and a muffler and tip for under $500 for sure....I think when people see Infiniti they start seeing $$$$....
