98 2wd 4.3 dual exhaust
iv got a 1998 c1500 two wheel drive pickup with a 4.3L vortec in it. the motor recently blew up in it and iv just pulled it out and im going to put a rebuilt 4.3 in it, im set on putting true duals on it, a friend just gave me some v6 hooker headers that are practically new to put on it, and my dad has two flowmaster mufflers that im going to put on it. il probably have to take it to an exhaust shop to get the x-pipe and get them to bend the tubing so that il be able to install it myself. im also going to have to buy another catalytic converter to put on it to meet epa standards. how do you guys think it'd sound with all that on it? iv never done any exhaust work but my dad has and iv got friends that have. anything i might need to know before i start, any trouble i might run into or anything like that. thanks for any help or suggestions

Re: 98 2wd 4.3 dual exhaust
You asked. I think it will sound like crap. It won't even be closed to what a V8 sounds like. But to each his own. Good luck

Re: 98 2wd 4.3 dual exhaust
The V6s don't sound much different than the V8s, at least not the 4.3... basically a 5.7 with 2 cylinders missing and sounds very similar.
I second the V8 option.
