Angry I Need Professional Help With My Kia Sportage

Hi this is new for me and trying to get the right information. My 1997 kia Sportage is acting up. Every time I drive the car for some reason it seems to stall. Well this car is not under guaranty, so the card Dealer service departent informed me that it was a sensor. Would this keep the Check Engine light on too? But the main thing is that the car wants to stall while I drive it on and off. Can someone help me?

Thanks, RACE

Air flow sensor

I had a similar problem with my Sportage 94. BUT it was only when the engine was"cool", that is to say, first 30 minutes (approximately) when I turned it on at first time at day (AND ONLY AT FIRST DAILY TURN ON), it seemed to stall.

The problem: Air flow sensor was damaged. I replace it and the problem leave inmediately.

But if you don't have this problem on your first daily turn on, I think Patate have reazon. It could be the alternator.

also when does it do this? and is it an auto tranny or manual tranny.

if it only seems to do this when warm and you have an auto tranny it could be the tcc solenoid.

see if ti trys to do it in neutral.

I've got a suggestion....why not just call a Kia dealership & ask the service department what the problem is.

I bought my 2001 Sportage Ex in June of 2001, & I Love my Kia Sportage, no major problems yet. I live in Canada, where the temperature gets to be like -30 degrees celcius in the winter, now thats darn cold. Any questions I have, I just phone up Holiday Kia & my questions get answered.

I'm sorry that you have problems with yours.
