I used to drive on my dad's lap when i was a kid too. Yoinked the handbrake once. Don't think i ever 'drove' again after that.

Re: Driving Young ...

Stepped on the brake pedal and reached up to the shifter. In the midwest, you have farm kids learning to drive around those ages and you have 8 year olds who can drive a standard better than most adults, driving their parents trucks around the field and whotnot.

Re: Driving Young ...

There's a reason why automatics should be illegal. If it had been a manual, he would not have been able to go for a ride.

uh huh, make them illegal, based on that. Oh please. Where the hell was the mother in the first place. I am tired of seeing these little kids doing things that are dangerous to themselves and others simply because they are not being watched by the parent. Oh and what the hell is a parent teaching a kid of 4 years how to drive the car. Stupid, just stupid.

"It was the third time in six weeks that a west Michigan child was caught driving a vehicle." WTF, is it a trend?

I wasn't actually serious about it. There is no way a law like that would ever pass. I just prefer manuals over automatics.

Parents? Where the fucking hell are the parents? Take this kid and give him to a family that would keep an eye on him.
