Welcome to the forum!

Well, first off, are you set on a new car or would you mind getting a couple year old Civic? My suggestion to you is get a 99-00 Civic Si. They are the "Highest Quality" Civics made, meaning they come stock with a kick-ass motor, and all the features and EX does + more.

I would strongly consider pickin' up one of those, it's the best bang for your buck.

BUT if you want a new Civic, I'd suggest the EX Coupe. At least it comes with vtec If you don't mind the looks of the new Civic Si Hatch, that's your best choice for a new Civic.

DX and LX models have the lower of the engine choices and the LX is nicer then the DX.
EX is the nicest of all with a slightly more powerful engine, sunroof, power accesories, etc.. (body colored mouldings, I think)
Si is the performance variant.

I have listed them in order of increased pricing as well. Check out Hondas website for more info on the different models.

And, welcome to AF. Check out the FAQ section, this shuld answer a lot of your questions about Civics and pretty much any other car stuff. Good luck.
