CRX vs. Mustang 5.0

Who you think will win? we got some serious money on this, ive got a hundred bucks riding on this race. a buddy of mine has a 88 5.0 LX. He's got right around 450hp. He has a Vortec Supercharger, 3:73's, an X 303 cam, and all the bolt ons there are. Ive got a CRX, ive got right about 290-300 hp. my car weighs only 1,800lbs. Ive got a GSR engine, a turbonetics T3/T4 turbo, cams, pulleys, gears, aem intake, fuel management system, and im waiting for the venom nitrous set up. Let me know what you think. we both run mid to high 11's.

Finally a race talking about. Its hard to tell who will win. My money is on the better driver. Unless you get the NOS for the CRX in time then my money is on the crx.

What kind of cams are you running? Better make sure they are turbo cams, since the cams designed for N/A VTECs are designed to have excessive overlap. It's been documented that if you are running these kind of cams(the N/As), you could be losing as much as 40HP. Try putting the stockers, and you'll get back at least 25HP. If you go get turbo-specific cams, you'll get the 40.

As for the race, I dunno. Are you racing on the street or strip? Are both your times run on slicks or D.O.T. radials? If both are on street, then it'll be up to the driver. if it's both on slicks, you're in trouble, since you lose more traction than the Mustang. If this is the case, the nitrous should even things, or even tip the balance your way.
