I have a chance for some ebay springs ..should I get them?
Well my friend has a 88 crx dx and he has these no name springs for it..they're just red and have the thing you can turn to change the height or whatever..well He said he paid 60 dollars for them on eBay and he doens't want to lower his car now so he said he'de take 20 bucks for all four of them still in the box.. so should I get them? I've heard that they're crap and will just mess your car up and give you negative camber..etc. etc. so..opinions please.

lowering your car with anything is going to give you negative camber and wear out your shocks quicker.
The thing about cheapo springs and coilovers is that the springs will tend to start sagging and the threaded sleeve I have seen pictures of the threads being completely stripped. Do not go cheap with your suspension. It literally could mean life and death with cheap suspension components.

i agree with gscivic7. if youre going to do suspension. do it right. dont find out for yourself that it could cost hundreds to repair. just buy big name brand ( tein, tokico etc..) shocks struts with springs. camber kit or youre going to be replacing the tires more often than youd like. its also a good idea to know how your wheels will fit in the wheel well or youll hit, rub whatever.. do it right.. sorry for the bad news but its better in the long run.

Instead of making a new thread I'm gonna post up my other suspension quesions in here.
Doesn't lowering your car make it harder to get aligned? My buddy got his celica lowered about 2 inches and the alignment shop he went to says they can't even do it now..so is that gonna be a problem to ? And on that note is 65.00 a rip off for a 4 wheel alignment on a 89 crx? also is eibach a pretty good company to go with for hondas? thanks for all the answers guys.

Re: I have a chance for some ebay springs ..should I get them?
The only reason they'd have a hard time aligning your wheels would be because your car is so low that they can't get it on lift.
$65 isn't bad for a 4 wheel alignment. Find a place that has lifetime alignments, it'll save you a bunch. The firestone stores around my area are freaking awesome and their lifetime alignement plan is only $150. So worth it when you have a lowered car. Eibach is a great company so is H&R. Two of the best in the market IMO.

I'm looking at a eibach ground control setup right now on ebay..it says around a 1.5-2" drop. Is a camber kit really needed for a drop of about 1.5-2 inches? I mean..will I actually see the tires bending inwards like with cut springs.

Re: I have a chance for some ebay springs ..should I get them?
Usually though, up to about 2" drop you'll still be within factory specs, or just outside of them. You'll still get more wear on your tires, but if you're into performance, the pros of having a little negative camber will offset the increased tire wear.
