I just drove an G35!!!!

My dad brings me home a G35 for me to see what I think (he is a huge car fanatic and currently drives a CLK55, just to give you an idea, his daily driver is an I35 for bussiness). He praised the car and hands me the keys and says "go tell me what you think". Here are my thoughts

1.Rear wheel drive rocks??
2.the car is pretty fast
3.looks much better in real life
4.Lexus IS owners better look out, this is NOT a pretender like the IS
5.I would guess it is as quick as an Auto/manual BMW 330
6.I would guess it is quicker than a new Audi 3.0 A4
7.I bet it handles on par with the BMW 3 series (non M3)
8.I bet it handles better than the Audi A4s
9.the car feels surprising light and agile (espeically for a 4 door)
10.If you are a 2 door car guy and think 4 doors are for old people-never say "never".
11.the engine is VERY smooth
12.the interior is very nice, I have not been overly impressed with Nissan interiors, but this changes everything.
13.the car feels and looks much smaller in real life (a good thing for me)
14.I drove it on the exact same "course" as I have spent significant time on with an s2000 (which is a very fun car to drive) and can tell you the G35 is closer than you would think.
15.I would guess that when a 5 speed stick comes out, it will be an under 6 sec car.
16. I have never been a big fan of Infinti, I think that they come up a little short nest to the Acuras (I35 vs TL type S), BMW and audi (the G20 was a joke), and lexus (the LS and GS have outperfromed and out sold the Q45 by a long shot, but the new Q is getting some momentum), that being said, I am turning that opinion around, with the new Q, the I35 putting out 260 hp now, the new G35, the new G35 coming and the new M35 which you will hear more about soon enough, I jusy hope they bring the skyline after all (with a 300+ hp V-8), the M35 (G35 with a V-8 and over 300 HP) will compete with the M3.

I never thought I would say this, but GOOD JOB Infiniti!!!

Don't go into shock or anything, but you just drove a Skyline. Yes, the G35 is the new Skyline in Japan. Many enthusiasts have heard plenty about "Godzilla" and a whole host of simply wicked GT-Rs thrashing around Japan and Europe, but do not realize that the Skyline encompasses such a wide range of cars. So actually, Nissan has already given us a Skyline! It's all but carved in stone now that we'll be getting the R35 GT-R. We'll keep our fingers crossed until the "official word" comes down from Nissan. I'll bet driving the G35 has really whet your appetite, though!

So you think the Z's interior will be as nice? The Touring Z and G35 will be in the same price range, if I'm not mistaken. I just hope that the Z's interior won't be "cheap and tacky" like some of you might've presumed. But personally, I think it'll be pretty nice.

Hey, quick question guys. Is the GT-R going to be the upcoming G35 sports coupe featured in the future models section of the Infiniti website? I remember reading an article in SCC about the skyline coming over but I can't really remember it.

that is the huge question that remains un answered at this point,
1.will the g35 coupe be THE skyline?
2.will the v8 make it into the g35 coupe and call it the skyline?
3.will the skyline be a totally different beast, and if so, what engine will it have? (most likely the v8)?
4.Will the skyline be badged as a Nissan or Infiniti (most likely infiniti)
5.Will THE real skyline even come out in the US (or will it be an americanized version) and if so, when??

Damn.... so many unknowns in the atumotive world! Is the type R coming over? If so, which R? Is the G35 Coupe the new Skyline? How many horses will Nissan pull out of the 350Z? Is the Accord V6 coupe the Prelude replacement? Sheesh...

yes the accord coupe will be the replacement for the old accord coupe AND the prelude (read-it will be much more sporty than the last 1 with a stick available)
