Although SEM makes a VERY GOOD PRODUCT in colorcoat, I don't kno about using it on fabric. That's because although the end result tends to function like a dye, colorcoat is not a dye. It is a very flexable "colorcoating." And flexable it is!!! I would try a small area first if you plan to use it, to make sure it works lik e you expect...subject the part to minor abuse...etc.

There are other companies who make DYE...G2 and VHT both make a vinyl/fabric dye. They are actual dye's that penatrat, not just coat. I can't say how well these work, as I have only used sem, though I do have a bottle of the VHT and it claims it will work on fabric and carpets. You might want to look into that, and follow the directs and do once small piece first.
