Girlfriend in tears and me pissed off.

My what a wonderful day today was. Started off by not waking up for my Psychology class because my alarm didn't go off, so I missed the quiz we took and can't make up. How great. Then I almost don't make it to lunch due to some jackass of a librarian giving is info in my english class and disregarding the fact that we all have things to do at the end of the class.

Oh, but that's not the kicker.

Wednesday afternoon, my girlfriend put her violin in the music room at the campus Fine Arts Center. She has a concert tonight and tomorrow, in which she would obviously be playing her violin. Welll...it turns out, someone thought it might be funny to just...oh...take her $7000 violin. Just took it. Now she's using some old diseased looking pile and is stressed beyond belief because if she can't find it, she doesn't have the money to buy another one. I was disappointed with this until she started crying tonight after we went to look for it again. Now I'm pissed. I'd really like to find the little fuck that took it and give him/her a good piece of my mind.

Yup. Her Orchestra teacher in high school has a Violin he plays only once a year that is worth 500k. The reason he only plays it once a year is because just to take it out of the case it's a thousand dollars to insure it for that one time.

You'd want the strings to be made of solid bloody gold! I'm a musician, and I study music at University, and my Lecturer has an expensive clarinet worth over 3 grand, and the worlds most expensive grand piano is only 250k!

I can believe her Violin would be AROUND 7k, but it would be made of the worlds finest materials, have the best reverberation, and is awesome to play, but sorry, I can't believe a violin costing 500k, not in the hands of a teacher.

But it sucks that some prick stole the violin, I'd kick their asses. If someoone stole my guitar, by lord they'd want to have a good fucking excuse.

500k is quite a bit for a Violin, but trust the word of my girlfriend, since she DID have the guy for an orchestra teacher for 4 years. He only plays it for the graduation ceremony every year.

I know the Stradivari and Guarnei del Gesu violins will run anywhere from 2 to 6 million dollars, but I am unfamiliar with the half million dollar veriety. I am also amazed that an instructor would have an instrament of that value. Not that he can't but most instructors don't pull that kind of bank.

Actually, the man SHOULD be a famous player. But apparently his mother was overprotective of him and wouldn't let him go out to do anything. He was INVITED to Julliard. Tania told me that he won the violin in a contest in Europe (yup, he's pretty good).

As far as hers is concerned, it's a Franz Warner (don't know if I've spelled that correctly, but thats how it sounds). We've got some things going to looking for it, so hopefully it will turn up.

If she had a $7 violin then why didn't she have it insured? Heck, you can add anything like that to a parent's home owners or even a renter's insurance policy for less than $100 a year! I should know, I sell insurance.

It could well be insured, the point is it's still gone and it seems to hold sentimental value.

Then why don't her parents claim it on insurance and not tell her they did and then give her the new violin and tell her that it's actually the old one and it was recovered? I've successfully pulled it off before, not that it was a Violin.

My ideas= teh great.
