oops!

Ok so Im coming back from my class when my dad calls to ask me if i want to meet him and my stepmom to go out to eat. I say sure but im new to the town so i dont know the place that he wants to go but im on the road so i wait for him and follow him. We get to a 4 lane road so just since im in a playfull mood i decide to pull up beside my dad in his 2003 inifinty g35 coupe and rev my engine, i also decide why not drop it into 3rd and give it a little gas and fly down the road, little did i realize at the same time i was going to gun my si my dad was going to gun his g35....all i remember after that is seeing my dad about 3 cars ahead of me. The worst part about it is after I get to the resturaunt my dad asked me if i was even trying, now my car isnt lightning fast but its a quick little car, damn my dad and his expensive fast car.

Re: oops!

Whatever, whenever my dad wants to line up his '04 accord, I'll whoop his ass! haha.
But yeah, those nissan/inifiniti coupes are quite a bit faster than your Si, as is the case with my car, so don't feel too bad about losing...Done any mods to your Si? Is it one of the '99-'00 coupes or one of the newer hatchbacks?

If your dad's accord is a V6 then he would smoke you. Don't they make those in 6 speeds, or was it just the coupes?

On a different note, the G35Cs are low 14 second cars, but really good drivers can get them into high 13s. I wouldn't call them "fast" but they're deffinitely quick.

It's all good to mess with you parents.

It's always fun. Makes for good conversation.

Re: oops!

I'm gonna be in trouble once my dad gets his 66 f100 back on the road. It's been garaged for a while because of electrical problems. So he figured why he fixed that he'd get a ton of new parts. Anyways it has a 390 and its gonna be pushin 400 hp.

at least i can beat his 2000 lincoln ls

The 6 speed is only in the Coupe. I think his Maxima would be a close run with the V6 Accord SEDAN. I have driven the 6 speed and it works really good. Honda says it makes more like 26X hp than 240. My dad almost bought the coupe, and one night he took it out (mind you, this one was a V6 automatic), and I lined him up at a red light in his stock 2000 Maxima. I had a quick jump, and he stayed at my rear door until about 65mph where we let off. Pretty much dead even. So the Maxima is a good run for the V6 Accord, but it will lose by a bit to the 6spd Coupe.

Re: oops!

Maybe, but the Accord can easily be a mid 14 second car stock and some people have ran low 14s with the coupe - and it looks like he ran a 15.1

http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php...arch+DragTimes

Even the auto hybrid ran a 15.2.

EDIT: Acutally, I just remembered that a guy ran a 13.9 with a stock 6 Speed Accord coupe on slicks.

After driving the 6spd coupe, I sincerely believe it can run a low 14. Very quick car, and very satisfying. Car and Driver actually said that the Hybrid yields a better 0-60 time than the regular V6 sedan. My friend's parents have an 04 V6 auto sedan, and it would be a good race for the Maxima. I'm not sure who would win. The manual may be a different story.

Re: oops!

His is an '04 EX V6 sedan, with the 5 speed automatic and just the 16 inch wheels(so he is already one-up on me in that respect, I have heavier 17 inchers)...I drove it once and got on it up to about 65 and I couldn't really distinguish a difference between my car and his car, except that maybe his was a LITTLE faster off the line. I was really hoping he'd get the coupe instead, because the sedan is just butt ugly.
