Since I have had some PM's over the whole "sleeper" fiasco. (allthough I really wasnt aiming to come off as rude)

Here is my definition of a sleeper. Yep, looks like pretty much every-other civic out there:






I ran low 12's all day in that. Are 12's fast? Depends on the car I say. Fast for a civic, slow for a built V8. But that's the advantage over four more pistons. No, it is not a "stock" motor either. And yes, I am biased towards civics.

Is my Si I have now fast? By all means no, it is quite the terd. But it is quiet, rides nice, and has power everything. It sure is great on a long commute as well.

Am I anti domestic? Nope. I am currently helping my father-in-law restore a SS impala. with a blown 283. And someday, I will find my 71' Chevelle I am searching for. I enjoy working on all cars, whether domestic, import, or rust-bucket. I also enjoy lining up against any car. Even If I know without a doubt I will lose.

Do I race my Si? Not really. I do have a 75 shot kit on there, to surprise the un-suspecting punk kid, whether they are in a civic, or a mustang.

We all have our preferances in vehicles. I have mine, you all have yours. But all in all, I meant no disrespect. So please, stop the PM's.

Now you my friend are what I call a car nut. I get tired of the "I hate import's or domestic" guys as were all car nuts or we wouldn't be here. Glad to hear someone likes all cars like I do.
That is one nice killer sleeper. My first love is a sleeper, love to catch them with there pants down.

Nice, you can always appreciate a 12 sec. Civic when it blows by you, when you are racing.

Nice Civic. Im not a huge sleeper fan, I just happen to like somewhat flashy cars (if they can back it up), but yours look good. I like the black one, what have you done to it.

exactly, this is why we made a rule against Iports Vs Domestic cars in the Car Comparioson section. We were really getting sick of BS overgeneralizations like domestics are 1/4 mile cars and imports for handling not to mention the ridiculous hate.

For my next car I was actually thinking of a hybrid half american half japanse by dropping an LS1 into a FD RX7. I think its a perfect match, the LS1 is light and compact so it will not be a polar mometum nightmare not to mention that its capable of serious power and reliability while the RX7 has a wonderfull chassis. And i could not care less that its not JDM or pure domestic.

there is no turbo in it. as you can see from the exhuast side of the engine, its just headers, and no turbo manifold and turbo on it along with no front mount intercooler. this car is strictly n/a with raised compression and cams probraby since he says its not internally stock.

I'll have a sleeper someday. My dream sleeper is a rattly old half primer colored bmw e30 with unfinished bondo work on the outside, with a twin turbo lexus V8 under the hood. Now THAT would be a sleeper.

Another generalazation. Imports aren't fast without boost.
I think building cars N/A is the way to go, It's just, "cooler" when you have a real fast car, that isn't boosted :P

Anyhow, nice Civic, real clean.
But. How come all the civics that are actually fast, look almost completely stock? WTF is up with that?
