Has anyone seen this kit before?

Just curious, but has anyone ever seen a Mclaren F1 production street car?

Re: Has anyone seen this kit before?

There is no kit of the road version of the F1, you can find kits of the short tail and long tail GT versions though.

BTW, to answer your question as it is stated, I have seen a Mclaren F1 production street car, I saw it in the London showroom

Where have you seen the versions you speak of?

Oh gosh! That sarcasm deserves a good LOL.

I saw one on my workbench and the other is in my closet of 'to build' kits

Actually, http://www.scaleracecars.com had some in stock and so does http://www.surfcitymodelcars.com

The race versions are all relatively expensive resin kits. The only street version in 1/24th was a Maisto diecast that I'm not sure is available anymore or not (and I'm sure it was the basis for at least one of the resin race car masters). Brian (Veyron) and I both have the diecast, and someday will refinish them...yesterday you saw how good his Maisto Z4 looks refinished. We found the McLarens really cheap a few years back at a Kay Bee Toys sale. Unfortunately the McLaren is an early Maisto before they used rubber tires, so the tires are especially lame.

I have a Maisto F1 in a dark blue green, and the tires on it are nice and soft, rubber-like with good detail, maybe it's a late issue of it? I've never seen one with bad tires. Someday I will rebuild it too... - Mark
