Thumbs up TKO500 ordered, thumbs up CFM!

Well, Just broke myself. Ordered my TKO500 and just about everything needed to put it in:

TKO500 w/26T input shaft
SPEC Stage II clutch
Fox shifter fork
31T output yolk
5/8 spacer
Steeda quadrant/cable/adjuster kit
ARP flywheel bolts
21T speedo gear

Came out to ~2150 to my door. They are shipping the trans for free and putting everything but the clutch in the tranny box. They even answered the phone after their business hours to take my order

I will be a repeat customer at Central Florida Motorsports.

BTW they have TKO 500 and 600's for last years prices until this shipment runs out, then they go up 150 bucks!

Re: TKO500 ordered, thumbs up CFM!

I've driven an old TKO. It's a little notchier than my T-5 but not terrible. The TKO500 is supposed to be worlds better, quieter, and smoother. We'll find out later this month!

Re: TKO500 ordered, thumbs up CFM!

I just installed my cam and bolted my new heads on. Just saving up for the new intake and I'll be all set, except for the fact that I still run the stock clutch/T-5! With the car pushing 300rwhp, I don't they will last very long, especially with the clutch already starting to slip... As soon as the trans shits, it's TKO500 time! With either a Spec or CF clutch. Let us know how you like it. I drove my freinds car which has a TK0600/Centerforce DF clutch. It felt real tight and strong. Made me want to run down to mustangs unlimited to pick one up that same day!

Re: TKO500 ordered, thumbs up CFM!

Guys, quick question about those Spec Clutches.

I've heard that they are very grabby, and will catch on with no real chance of being able to ride it. Is this true?

I've heard that too. My friend Missy has one. She said it's Grab and go. Instead of a full disk clutch her's only has 4 angles to grab, kinda looks like this +.

Have/had. GT is gone, I just miss it though so I leave it in the sig. Cougar is the GF's, but I have been doing some work to it, so I clam it as half mine.

You can also add;82 Buick Regal, 86 Mercury Cougar, 87 Mercury Lynx, 89 Mustang LX coupe to my list if you want of past cars.
