1955 Porsche Speedster Finished 1/07/2005

For those that missed the original progress thread, here is the link. Check out the final picture. My scanner couldn't get all of the engine bay. It's about 4:00 A.M. right now, and I'm about to fall asleep. Check it out, and tell me what you think. Don't hold back.

The engine looks awesome! Guess it took a lot of time...

Well done!

Nice engine! This is the first time I've seen someone draw the engine of a car

Re: 1955 Porsche Speedster Finished 1/07/2005

the generator on that engine is the exact one I got and used on my VW when I first got it. I now have an alternator and dual carbs and crap like that so my old generator is sitting on my desk at work. The fan is still attached so I sit and spin it for fun.

I'm getting all emotional here.

Great work...I think I love you.

lololol

p.s. I'm sure you are all aware that Ferdinand Porsche designed the VW. We're related.

Re: 1955 Porsche Speedster Finished 1/07/2005

Thanks for the compliments, guys. The engine bay scanned a little blurry, so some of the detail was lost. Glad you guys still like it, though, as I almost gave up on drawing the engine because of the shapes (Shading was the easy part). Lemorris, I remember reading that when I was reading the info next to the picture I drew.

its gorgeous, the shading is excellent.

tips to make it an overall cleaner peice woudl be to fade the smaller stones out, they end abruptly near the front bumper and its sort of an empty space that could be filled with texture.

I still think the front is a little stretched, but other than that, it looks great. Maybe make it a bit smaller, so that A) it's easier to see, and B) There's a b?

Thanks. Yeah, actually I drew my car already several times in line art, never posted it on here though. I wasn't very satisfied with any of the attempts, so I'll definitely try it again. I have to search for the line art versions, but the colored version's below. I did it in blue because of more of a color range to choose from, since it was my first attempt.

My next project will probably be a 300ZX(Z31 or Z32), or AE86. Anyway, here it is:
