2005 corolla or 2005 sentra

i wanted to know which one of these to cars were better to get in terms of performance wise.. a 2005 toyota corolla or 2005 nissan sentra
note: both are the base model and both are manuel transmission

I'd go with the Sentra if I were you, just because in my experience they've shown to be very reliable and have a large aftermarket following, moreso than the corolla. Plus I like Nissan's better than Toyota's.

What kind of performance? 0-60? handling? Autocross? Neither will produce anything that I would call performance. They are designed from the ground up as an economy car and although they can be modified to perform better, they will never be a performance car.

If you're looking for performance, you can do the research yourself. Look at power to weight ratios (both power and weight are published in any of the buyers guides on the newstand) and then check sites like consumer reports for other things like reliability, and then check car and driver and motor trend for road tests of both cars.

when i say pêrformance i dont mean top fuel dragster lol..i just mean getting a little more out of the stock engines just so thast its funner and faster when driving...prob just exaust intake and mags...maybe in the future a little bolt on turbo of 6 psi or something...prob aiming for about 180hp..i know both engines produce about 130 each so an extra 50-60 hp extra...i just want to know which one i would get the most out of that 180hp..i dont have their stock quarter mile times or 0-60 so it will be appreciated to ne one who can help me.thx

First of all what kind of toyota or sentra? Corolla CE, S ?
and the sentra SE-R, SE-R spec V, or regular?

The sentra SPEC V (17k) cost a little more than the msrp of the Corolla CE(13k)

I think it would have been a better comparison to have used the SE-R or base model instead of the Spec V

thx for all teh info lanbo lover..it is very helpfull..i did mention though in my first post that it was the base model of both cars that i wanted to compare but all the info is their n e way so thx a lot

corollas are easy to drive, and the sentra is by nissan. I'd go for the Sentra
