Maxlife question.. please reply.

This hasn't quite been covered completely. Please help me (and others).

First of all, everywhere I look, it seems people can't quite agree on the usefullness of high mileage oil (Valvoline's Maxilfe, for one). So I have a few questiosn I would like you to specifically answer, on topic.

1. Fill out poll question.

2. If you don't believe it is a sales gimmick, should I use it in my car just because it has high miles, or wait until I have oil problems? (Leaks, etc.)

I'm hoping this can be a final point to get these questions clearly answered with helpful people.

Valvoline Max Life is formulated with more calcium additives to combat the acids that can form from increased blowby. According to its ads they lead you to believe that it plugs leaks, but according to analysis it doesn't appear to have any leak preventers.

If your old car has a problem with acidic oil from blowby, Max Life will help. Otherwise, just run the regular stuff and change it regularly. I guess it couldn't hurt to run it, though.
