Help me quiet the road noise... where to apply sound deadener?

I have a '93 Civic hatchback and the road noise is driving me nuts. I bought some sound deadener from Cascade Audio Engineering (CAE). I bought 2 packs of VB-2, a box of VB-2HD, and some VB-5 gasket foam. Where should I apply this stuff to have the best results? I'm going to start on the inner and outer panels inside of my doors today... but where else should I apply this stuff?

Everywhere...

For just road noise, you might want to consider doing the floor also...

yeah dude seriously take out the carpet and apply that stuff to the floor. another thing is take off the plastic paneling in the rear of the car and apply it to the inside of the quarter panels by the wheel well's and if you really want lexus style quiet take the headliner out and put it up top too.

Yeah, that's another thing... wind noise. (I notice that a lot.)
You can also do the pillars.

I would also do it around the shifter itself on the floor. There is ALOT of noise from there.

Damn... so it sounds like pretty much everywhere. Might as well do the windows while I'm at it, then. Cool... thanks for the help.

One thing about the floorboard. How would I remove and replace the carpeting without messing it up?

remove the bottom of rear seats, remove the front seats, take apart the center console and take that out, under the dash there will be couple of plugs and also the part that is on the bottom of the door opening on both sides. than you can take that sucker out.
have fun!

the carpeting in my civic came out in one piece and it was molded. basically the front foot well was held in with velcro and the rest was just tucked under panelling. just use a fat flathead screwdriver to shove it back under the panels when your done but then again your panels will all be out so you wont have to. its a lot easier then you might think.

good luck, and so much for weight reduction!!!

Cool... I thought maybe the carpeting was held down with an adhesive or something... that's why I was tripping. Well... thanks, guyz.

About the weight reduction... the sound damping sheets I have aren't that heavy. But I don't mind it, anywayz... my car's light enough as it is.
