Fiero with a turbo? Is that on the stock block or not? Oooh, turbo Fiero. Always wanted one.

Because believe it or not, a medium displacement V6 with a turbo makes more power than a small block, weighs less, gets better fuel economy, and has more upgradeability. Just pick the right V6 to start with. Take a Buick V6 with a single T-4 turbo. Makes a 3800 lb Regal do a 11 second 1/4 mile run with the air conditioning on. That took about $1000 bucks, and the car gets 28 MPG.

an archie kit is a sweet idea however a design one turbo system was $2600 and adds nearly 90hp... and more than 100lbft of torque over stock. where yes; a SBC would be nice but usually runs closer to $6000 for a kit/engine and time for install. a buick engine 3.8 (RWD G/N) like the one spoken of will not work in a Fiero with out extensive modifications costing well above even a V8.

Hehe, i guess you have to drive in one of the monsters that archie built, I was amazed by the damn thing.
I dont know how much cooling would a turbo motor require, but i know that you couldnt really run a intercooler in a fiero.
BTW Archie was thinking about getting blower onto his LT1 Stinger car, but he couldnt find one in time. Now that would be some serious power, hehe

I was just using the 3800 as reference, of how much power a Turbo 6 makes, and how useful the powerband can be.

Not just 6's either, the Porsche 4 cyl I'm getting makes about 400hp at 6500 rpm and 400ft lbs at 3000 rpm. Gets good gas mileage too. Takes a 2500 lb 924 to 60 in about 3.6 seconds, 1/4 mile in 11.
