Re: looking for mini-suv or mini-truck

I love those boxy s-trucks! Most of them that were shipped up north were automatically equipped with 4x4. I spend a good bit of time in Kingston, ON in the summers and I see occasional 2WD trucks and suvs around. Just look HARD

The Mazda B-series trucks seem pretty plentiful (if not rusty) up there.

The S-series trucks can be converted to 2WD, but its not pretty. If you are looking at modifying the V6, skip it. Buy a small block chevy and drop it in. It fits super easy and there are kits you can buy in Summit, Jegs, or PAW catalogs that include motor mounts, oil pans (if necessary) headers, wiring harnesses, the works.
