I need some intake piping.

were can I buy some piping to make a custom intake out of? PVC is an easy one but I dont like it that much....I'll go with it if its the best choice.

Re: I need some intake piping.

I scour Home Depot/Lowe's and auto parts stores. Pipe supply houses are great, too.

You can get PVC in thin-wall drain tube which keeps it light, but it only comes in 4". Great for V8s, not so smart for I-4s. I've also made it from chromed tailpipe tips. Go to the parts store and buy a 15" chrome tip and cut it to the length you need. I've also had exhaust shops bend a custom 3" piece of steel exhaust tube and then powdercoated it.

My next project is a retro look on my 66 bonneville. I'm going to use copper tubing for things like heater lines and tranny cooler lines, and for the intake I'm going to duct two 3" copper tubes to the front.

PVC is easy and can be painted, but I found that with some massaging, the chrome exhaust tips will fit inside the PVC or ABS fittings, so the bends can be plastic, but the main tubing is chrome.

Get creative. I found that the rubber collar tubing connectors/joints work very well. they are a rubber collar with clamps on each end used in plumbing drains for a flexible joint. Work great in cars.
