My Xmas gift

I don't want to be presumptuous, but I think I've made a great job with my Mclaren GT!
In fact I'm very happy with the modeling and the rendering of my 3D model.

So why don't share my pleasure ?

Here are some wallpapers (1600*1200).

Two colors, "to match" the 54 F1 GT and 58 F1 GT.
I say "to match" because the "dark burgundy" one is maybe not realy "dark burgundy", but I like it like this !

The pictures can look more or less dark, depending of the screen ...

click to have the full resolution ...

My next step is to make the race car, and if someone has something like THIS in very high resolution, this will help me a lot for the textures ...

PS: please, don't forget I'm the author of these pictures, you can modify them for your own if you need it (to make them brighter, change the red color ...) but don't distribute them, thanks

Wow - very impressive once again!!

That rules - I wish I could make stuff like that but I don't really have the patience required or the skillset unfortunately.

Beatiful work though!

Re: My Xmas gift

Really nice modelling job. However, the lighting could stand improvements. Look at the histogram of one of the pictures:

You have to little lights, which makes the colors look dull. I ran your image through Photoshop, and this is how much better it got after a simple level-adjustment:

So I would suggest spending some more time on the lighting setup, but the model and the materials are both top notch. Great job! BTW, which program do you use?

It's cool what you did, but I think he was going for "dark & mysterious".

As I said (or wanted to say) the pictures look fine on my screen, and I wanted them like this.
At my office, on my CRT screen, the pictures are realy too dark, and on my TFT, they are too bright !
I played in photoshop to correct them ...

Personnaly I don't like "your" result, just a question of taste (or the result of my screen), but as I said you can tune the picture for your own usage if you want.

Wow

I M P R E S S I V E. Very nice job. You guys who spend the time doing all of this are great. Nice job. I like the dark mystery, but agree that a lighter colored one would be nice also. The blue color that Peloton likes so much would be a nice rendering. Thanks much for the post.

Well, I guess that what I see as a lack of contrast you see as dark and mysterious. To each his own.
However, the histogram is not dependent on which screen you use. It clearly shows that while the picture is dark, there's hardly any black in it, making it look flat. I hope you don't think i'm criticizing you too much, or taking too much liberties with your work, but I made another adjustment on the picture. This time it's darker. It's the last time, I promise...

I still think it's a great model, and I would still like to know which program you modelled/rendered it with. Also, could you please post a wireframe?

I can say anything else that, on my screen my picture is "perfect",
"perfect" because it was like that I wanted it,
your first one is too bright and saturate,
and your last one very (too) dark.

I had some problem with some of my pictures on other screens, what is "hidden by the dark" on my screen, can be esaly seen on another one :-(
Maybe I will offer me a new screen for xmas ...

Dont understand how a model like this works is it just a series of pictures or can you download it and "fly" around it?

Excellent job jkbon.

I don't have the talent nor the patience, so I'm glad to have them. Thank you for sharing!
