collector point of view
I was wondering from a collectors point of view, how many people here
think the skyline will go up in value like most muscle cars have? Will they maintain and increase value or just depreciate like most other cars till one day they all end up in the scrapyard? Also if the value of cars in japan depreciate so rapidly and there is great pressure (taxes etc.) to keep buying new cars, how long will parts be available for these cars? I know salvage yards here in PA that still have some cars from back in the 50s, they never crush anything. how long do cars stay in the salvage yards in japan? |

I don't think the the Skyline will appreciate in Value, like the 300ZX it has done any better. As for Japanese Scrap yards, well I'd like to see one!

If you really stop to think about it there are little to NO cars that are collected to make money. Buying a car is a financial investment yes, but it's not like buying US Savings bonds or something where you have a chance of the value to go up. Even the price of exotics depreciate when you drive it off the lot.
Sorry, I'm not buying a Skyline to collect (dust) it. I'm buying it to DRIVE it. You mention "Muscle cars", but if you think of the American classic's most of those cars are rebuilt by someone who really loves that car and most likely put in as much sweat and blood as he/she did money and the chances are if you wanted to by it they'd want more than what its really worth. As for "Scrap yards in Japan" sorry not enough room for them. Crush and recycle. NEXT! Don't get me wrong, they do have a few, but no where near as much as we do in the States. Most of the one's I've seen had more old washing machines than cars. Go figure.

I hope they dont increase in value, that would hurt my chances of getting one.
