Re: dropping my car

Whoa, OK trying to clear my vision....Punctuation is your friend!

The '99 GT would have had PI heads while yours are not PI. Not sure of the interchangeability of headers for these.

As for lowering, it depends how much you lower. If you use a bullitt/mach 1 style spring set, you can change just the springs. If you go lower, you may need to change your struts and add offset rack bushings.

What does exhaust manifold have to do with lowering?

What is the history on your current shocks & struts? This would be a good time to replace as you are going to need an alignment. Also, what about tie-rod ends, ball joints, A-Arm bushings?

For a nice ~1" drop, look into the Bullitt kit from Ford (shocks struts springs). I put it on my 95 and just love the ride. My problem was 8 months later I was replacing the rest of the stuff I listed above.

If you go much more than an inch, you should probably consider caster/camber plates. When it comes to CC's, you can NOT beat Maximum Motorsports.

Remeber, your car is pushing 10 years old... What is going to need replacing next?

Re: dropping my car

the problem u are talking about for headers is in the case of long tubes which hang lower the stock maifolds. u can order a set of springs for you car from steeda or mrt or some other company. they usally lower your ride 1 1/4 inchs.

Just for future reference 96-04 exhuast manifolds and aftermarket headers are interchangeable as long as you keep 2V wit 2V, 4V wit 4V.(PI heads don't change the exhuast manifolds/headers)
