Exclamation Well whata ya know, S27 is making a resin Ferrari 512BB road car kit.

Here's the link to early stages of the kit, doesn't look like it's going to be full detail. The A pillars look a little thick to me, I'm thinking they began with one one the plastic bodies floating around.

Seems there are still enough decent plastic ones out there that I wouldn't ever need to spend Studio 27 $$ for a 512 BB. Are they that rare?

So far it's the car that has confounded every maker who has taken a shot at it and I'm not so sure S27 is getting it right.

Maybe it's a job for ScaleKraft.

I hear that the Ferrari licensing issue won't be so nasty starting in 2005. I hope Hasegawa doesn't sit idle. We need a companion to the Miura and the 356/512BB will be a perfect choice. (And also reissue the 328 and 348.)

Yikes! So I guess now is not a good time to tell you that Mach I 2003 got one at our show for $10?? When I was buying a Marui Pantera, I put $30 as my maximum bid. I had no idea the 365's were being bid that high.

Let's add a well and proper 308 GTB/GTS to the list of Hasegawa kits. The best one is Monogram's very simple kit...it's nice, but even it has a few minor issues w/decklid shape and it's got those awful TRX tires. Otherwise it's excellent. And Mach I 2003 got one of those at our show for $3.00.

You've sent your master to S27 and they've cast it already?!? That was quick.

Seriously though, it seems these companys are watching. There have been a few scratchbuild or conversion projects lately, and the resin kit mysteriously appears just as you guys complete your hard work.

It sounds like there were Ferrari kit deals galore at our show! I picked up the Gunze 250GTO hi-tech kit for $50!

I honestly wouldn't doubt that they have more than quite a fewsites such as AF, SAE, SAS, and Hiroboy's and a few others bookmarked. especially after seeing that email Steve got from Fujimi!! That would explain Aoshima producing so many new wheel sets and other stuff.

aaahhhh yes.... I got lucky at the ACME show. There were some great deals to be had.

ZoomZoom... Did you get the Pantera for $30 ? I've been trying to get one also, I guess I'm going to have to up my max bid.

S27 should have cast veyrons 512. At least the A pillars and side windows would have benifited from his hard work.

Yeah, I think I got the Pantera for about $32 delivered...IIRC it was won at $26 then I paid for shipping. That was a couple/three years ago, haven't tracked what they're going for now.

I agree with you, Tonio. I think AF is looked at by the companies. We've got some of the best builders around. I don't know if anyone has noticed that over the past few months Aoshima has slowly added more and more information to their site, in addition to more detailed kit info, tips on building, painting, etc. One thing in particular they added a big section on wheels. Listing them all with pics plus kits which they can be found on. For those that haven't been to my site, I've maintained just such a list for almost 2 years now, and to my knowledge, it was the only such list out there (I google wheel stuff frequently). It might be coincidence they felt they needed to do this, but I don't think it's likely. Though their list is rather incomplete and with a few inaccuracies which is strange considering it's their product.

Man, $10?!? Bargains like that would almost make it worth for me to drive to your next big show.

.....talking about 365/512 boxers.
do the past/current bodies for the 512 have the little extra width on the rear arches compared to the 365 as it does in reality, or is it un-noticeable when scaled down?
