Hey guys I have a 90 integra Gs with the b16 anyway when I try to stop I have no brake power so I have to pump the brake until it stops. It has new brake pads all around and has brake fluid and checked the brake lines.

its the master cylinder, so it'll have to be replaced. I changed the master cylinder on my old accord. Its not too complicated, but time consuming just b/c it was the first time i ever changed a master cylinder. If you dont want to mess with it, take it to a brake shop. But it definitely needs to be replaced.

Question

Hi, just looking through the faqs. I have the exact same problem with a 95 integra. It has a new master cylinder. The master cylinder was loosing fluid?? But very slowly. I lent the car out and when I got it back the brakes were going to the floor. So I filled the reservoir. The brakes were still very mushy and wouldn't begin to engage until they were near the floor. So I took it and had the lines bled. Now the brakes will engage right away, (as they should) but while sitting at a light, they will go to the floor.... ??? Master cylinder is not loosing fluid and again, is new (rebuilt). Does this possibly sounds like the brakes assist module (I think that is what it is called) or does it sound more like a bad master cylinder? I apologize for the length of this post, Any suggestions or assistance would be great appreciated. Tx Rad

Re: no brake power

It still appears that the Brake fluid needs to be bled out properly. The smallest air bubble will cause a loss of pressure.
