I don't think you can remove the insert. I picked up aftermarket clears for mine. Good luck.

Re: How to remove yellow inserts from Yukon Headlight??

i too have wondered about removing that marker lense from the headlights. i dont want aftermarket projector headlights since most aftermarket crap is exactly that, crap. ive read tutorials that people wrote on how to retro-fit reflector headlamps into projector ones where they just put their headlamps in the oven for about 15 minutes (not sure the temp off the top of my head) and this allows the lense to be removed from the housing, which would give you access to that little yellow marker, but since i have no idea if it can even be removed i have yet to try.

Bottom line--the only way to remove the yellow reflectors from the OEM housing is to split the housing open; how you go about doing this is your choice...

HI, do what I did and get the aftermarket projector lamps for the Denali. It is WELL WORTH IT.

This thread has a link where I bought my pair of projector lamps for $260:

Hello, i work for an automotive lighting company, the amber reflex reflector is required by FMVSS, if you remove, its not legal. Also, you will not be able to remove w/o damaging the lamp beyond repair.

Dont listen to cornbuzzard. I have a Grand Cherokee with clear corners and my turn signals are Ultra white. No more ugly looking amber. Driving in L.A cops have seen the turn signals and they dont say nothing. Where I got my clear corners I saw the clear headlight assembly for the yukons and tahoes but did not ask for price. They look much better without the Orange Amber. Good Luck.

I tried that procedure in the link where you seperate the lens from the light body by running a screwdriver around it.. Crap, I couldn't get the two pieces apart. Too snug and plastic will break. Wonder how he did it so well ? I gave up.

Re: How to remove yellow inserts from Yukon Headlight??

Hi,
that is because you are not supposed to do this but can get 'lucky' sometimes.
There is a reason for the yellow reflectors, like other people may see you better and that may save you, too...
Take care, Eggert

These lamps were made my Guide corp (my competitor, at least for another year or so), so the seal is probably two part urethane or hot melt adhesive, either way, if you pried on the lamp seal joint with a screw driver, you compromised the glue joint and your lamp will have moisture in it in the future. If that moisture contacts your lit bulb, it will fail. So it will look bad and not work. Dont listen to these guys, they have no clue what they are messing with.

Re: How to remove yellow inserts from Yukon Headlight??

just use a heat gun to heat the glue holding the lense and it should come right off. then simply reheat the glue when putting the lense cover back on to seal it back up, you wont have to worry about moisture or anything.
