amps not working

ok i have a 900 watt Boss amp that is 2 channels and about a week ago it went into protection mode. The best audio place in my town told me that it would cost $80 to fix I bought the amp new for $200 but cant find my reciet for my warranty should i have it fixed and sell it or just get a new amp b-cuz i am plannin on getting a new system any way. and i will have a kicker 1000d amp, 15" L5 slolobaric and 4 5x7's for $1100 thanks for any advice

I would just sell it...on ebay, say whats wrong with it but people are dumb and dont read so someone will buy it. Off topic but a few days a ago i saw an auction for that Xbox holiday package that goes for 150 everywhere sell for around 250 plus 20 shipping on ebay - proof that there are dumb people with money to spend...

ya i guess i could put it on there and tell thim whats wrong maybe someone might know how to fix it cuz i dont see the point in fixing it since i getting new equiptment

Do you have any idea why it defaulted to it's protection mode?

Wires touching? Amp seeing too low of an impedence? Improper ventilation or mounting lead to chronic overheating?

Figure that out and you may be able to save yourself the $$ or repairs.

I dont know y it did this. It never had any wires touch and was well ventillated. I know it was installed properly, i had the best audio shop i could install my system. I know they know there stuff they've won several national and world championships.

save you 80 piece and spend it on a more reliable amp. 900 watts and Boss shouldnt be in the same sentence. Take your time and save for what you want. Hell Xmas is coming. ask for a good amp

i am getting ready to buy a full kicker system with a 1000D amp so thats plenty good
