Hi everyone. I have been looking at civics for a long time. Not long ago i came across a Civic Si on the streets. New whenever i go t autotrader, i never find a civic Si, only EX, HX, Dx. Now is a SI expensive??? what is the diff between SI and EX? Are they rare? Reliable? Bla Bla Bla??? I saw some on EBAY and they go for a LOT , but they were all hooked up. So anyone got any hardcore info for me?

Si's are the special edition sports Civics.
The latest ones (1999-2000) had a B16A 160hp 1.6L motor. They aren't all that expensive, just rare. Of course they are just as reliable as any other Civic, they just are alot faster, handle better, and what not. Difference between Si and EX. B16A2 motor - 160hp only offered in 5spd Si only rims Si lip and painted side skirts Strut tower bar Si only grille leather wrapped steering wheel and shiftknob used- most can be had for about $15,000 |

It also depends on if you live in Canada or the U.S.

well, they were 16-17K new, and its only been couple of years. Iw ould say 13k for a used one. But remember this, most Si's that you'll find used will have been beaten on by kids.

im not the smartest person in the world but the money a person spends on an SI could that person buy an ex model, then buy an integra and or prelude motor that would be faster then a si. plus the person can sell the old motor and get some nice rims. I think a person can save or would come out being the same price.

Rare? I see more of those blue '99 and '00 Si's than any other car around here. The red and black ones are rare colors, but I see Si's out EVERYWHERE.

They also come equipped w/ a rear sway bar... big difference in handling...
And, a cute little sticker that says DOHC VTEC on the sides. :frog:

same thing..
there was a post last week about this. i am to understand that it goes like this:
Canadian Si = American EX American Si > American EX i have a 97 ex. i raced a Si once, and he kept up with me easily of course, but somethin went wrong with his car in 4th gear so he never passed me..but Si's are faster, have bigger spoilers, and cooler interiors. that's how i see it ;x |
